I am confused and kind of scared.
Guess this is all just a simulation after all!
This was a mod someone made that would map out your islands to a degree:

It did scroll off further north and south (top and bottom) although it was such a long time ago now I cannot remember by how much I just wanted to capture an image of the bulk amount of the islands as I could.
If I remember correctly the dark blue dots were Sharks Dolphins although the other colours I cannot remember now.
Cosmo and Fred
1. Go into Cartographer and take a screenshot
2. In a paint program invert the colours (so it's grey on white) and rotate so north points up
3. Print off the map so you can annotate with home island, shelter, resources etc. as you play
This relies on having a compass but saves having to leave sticks, build towers etc.
