How to kill and cook a shark!!

Killing a shark is very easy once you have the right tool(s). First you need a machete, they are not the very common so i would only use them to kill sharks if you can get one. Second you need to find a shark. One close to land would be the very easy to kill because you can land alot of shots with out missing. Finaly when u start fighting you need to aim for his back or tail, there will be a distict flinch and hit sound when u land a damaging blow. the shark should take around 6-8 shots with out doing much other than swimming but, when he is close to death he will start swimming very fast, that means he is 1-2 shots from death. Once you kill it you should drag it ashore using right click. Once on shore you can cut him up ! you will get 2 shark filles, one shark fin and then some other piece of meat. These will feed a ton of your hunger!!! However, you need to cook em first. The only way i have found that will cook them is by dragging the peices of meat onto the fire and then when you hear the sizzeling sound it means its cooking and your good to go! (v0.01)

This is really interesting, I didn't know you can kill the sharks. I found a machete and and the first thing I did was swim far out and attacked a great white. I must have struck him around 25 times until I gang banged by 3 other great whites.

I then reloaded and pulled my lighter out and and swam into the deep black trench. and found...nothing?

It doesn't only have to be a machete. Any form of axe will do supposedly (crude or normal). Also spears are doing /very/ little damage from what I can tell. And sometimes no matter how often I attack some sharks, they just don't die. So I believe it's a little different across the board.

I have only killed tiger sharks so far so i dont know if there is an hp difference between the speices but you may have hit it where it was not counted. @invicta

Ya you have to drag them on to the tri pod until you hear the sizzel and ether drop it and hope it says or hold it:)

Also note that shark fillets will fill your hunger.

If you make the fire next to a rock face or steep slope, you can use those objects to help hold tasty shark bits on the fire (among other things).

How the hell do you kill once it starts swimming fast? I been trying with an axe or machete but after maybe 9 hits it swims away from me.

Yeah I'll be glad when they fix this bug.

You *can* very easily balance a shark steak on the flames of your fire... just steady it so it doesn't wobble and you can let go of it. Looks silly, yes, but cooks without you having to hold RMB down the whole time!

Shark steak will definitely fill your health bar so they are worth hunting if you have the right weapon and are brave enough!

Just build a fire spit or a custom grill. Much easier than trying to use a simple campfire.

It was fixed with the hotfix. You can add the shark meat to the spit. Check the list of fixes when in doubt.

weird, because pewdiepie killed a great white with a pocket knife easily ._.

Took a look at it. I counted roughly 16 hits with a crude knife, and 3-4 cuts while he was nearly constantly screaming. Hard to tell how easy it was, I guess.
