As long as you hear sizzle its cooking.
Leave until you hear a DING.. all food works tht way.
Or you can RMB hold it on the fire.. but dropping it works fine
Shark is the best
Once you have your fire, I cook as much meat as I have laying around.. stock it up,, so far it does not rot.
Coconuts will give you the runs, but man, they do fill you up in qauntity
Ok, after trying over and over, I managed to do it, but it takes some crazy distance from the fire in order to get that crabbie cooked..
Sadly, atm cocusnuts give way more "hunger" back than seafood.
What I have found is that you are correct that being a distance away to bring the crab up really helps. Also if the crab is rightside up it helps but sometimes when they are flipped over you can get them to hover in the flames really high up for a long time.
The upgraded fire pit & spit are really nice because it's click-click to take one off and put another one on. No screwing around. I actually need very few rocks anymore and pretty much make the full setup everywhere I go.
