Island hop until you have around a dozen rocks before settling, you'll then be able to relax and build without the stress. Remember to make at least 4 axes to start! Always have a spare axe ready.

They spawn on the island ocasionally but barely ever ... i had to get them from a diffrent island

You will definitely have to go to multiple islands to collect rocks. Because rafts are so buggy right now, just do a game save before you take off because almost guaranteed your raft will vanish halfway to another island. Don't freak out - you can sprint (hold shift) swim almost as fast as paddling raft anyways and unless you're super unlucky you should make it to another island without a shark attack. I had one the first island I swam to, nothing the second or third.

I'm hoping they up the rock spawn count a bit, it's a little rough right now seeing all those rocks everywhere but only being able to loot 2 to 4 (if you're lucky)

Edit: I get that usable rocks need to be rare in order to make the game harder though. I don't think rocks that are an ideal size should be rediculously plentiful.
