Plant coconut (seed) to grow palm trees?
Would it be an option to dig a hole, put in a coconut, and let a palm tree grow, you need to water it naturally?

Sure. And in 13 to 15 years the tree will begin producing coconuts :P

Well, since a day in the game isn't anywhere near 24 real life hours then I would guess 13 to 15 years could be scaled to fit in to the game too.

I did the math a while back, and under the accelerated growth speeds of the game you would be looking at 156 days to begin producing coconuts and 209 days to reach full size. I wouldn't mind that. But my question is, are you willing to go through the effort, knowing how long the payoff would take?

More options are good options.... imo.

I don't hink yucca plants re-grow in a few days in RL, no one seems to complain that they don't spawn at a realistic rate, so what's the big deal with scaling palm trees a little differently than RL?
If I could paddle to the surrounding islands of my "home base" and plant palms to use in the future .......

As I said, the 156 and 209 day estimates ARE taking into account the rapid growth rate of plants in-game. IRL coconut palms take 15 years to start bearing fruit and 20 to reach full size.

as I said whats the big deal about scaling them a little differently.....

it's the same with the potatos and yuka. those don't regrow in a matter of hours either!

They wouldn't get there naturally. Bamboo isn't salt resistant. So any bamboo would have been brought there by humans.
