So as razberrie pointed out, you can expect to find things like great whites and whales close by.
As I've said in a few other threads, I think buoys would be a smart possibility for obtaining rescue. By moving, damaging, disabling, or otherwise messing with 1 or more, you could attract attention and potentially rescue via whoever comes to investigate.
I find this to be the most realistic method of being rescued available.
True they're only aesthetic now, plus the function of warning about increased chances of great whites nearby, but I'd like to think the devs had other plans in mind. If not my idea, at least salvaging the electronics for use elsewhere.
