Can you live on a single island indefinitely?
If you have shelter and are healthy can you live on a single Island for the rest of your life? I don't understand what the game wants from you, if you have all the means of survival on a single island then that means you beat the game right?

You can't ... you're suppossed to move on & explore etc ... if you're looking for a "long-term" goal, not part of the game yet, but on the Roadmap (getting rescued) ... => Early Access, Alpha 0.0.2

An example among others, water. Once you have no more coconuts, you need to boil sea water, this requires wood. Once you have no more wood on your island you have no more water.

Back in 0.01hf you could because there was infinite supply of potatoes that regrow too quickly. so there was no need to cook . However in 0.02 the potato got the nerf bat (as it should) so now it regrows slowly and needs to be cooked.

Basically now you are forced to hunt for food and live off all the coconuts on the island. Once you have exhausted all the coconuts you have to explore. The same is said with cooking since sooner or later all the sticks and palm fronds on the starting island will be gone and you will have to go to another island to find more sticks and palm fronds.

So no you can no longer stay on a single island forever unless you get resources from other islands.
