Stranded Deep

A nice strategy for not getting knocked out of the raft.
Just wanted to mentioned I noticed that I can almost always avoid getting knocked out by sharks now.

When I hear the shark music. I stop rowing, crouch in the center of the raft then watch and wait for the shark to whack me with it's tail fin. As long as I'm crouching and still, they bump me, but I stay in the raft.

After 1-2 hits on the raft, the sharks then swim away to line up for a new attack. This gives me time to start rowing again. I prefer to remain crouched at this point and keep rowing until he gets near again and repeat the process until I get away or reach land. You could possibly use a spear on it to scare it away but haven't tried it yet.

Just wanted to mention this for ppl getting constantly knocked into the water.

Staying crouched while rowing is the best way to go about it. The way I see it is that while crouched, you're making your body more compact and focusing your weight in the center of the raft. Doing so allows you to brace yourself against various impacts and also lessens the amount of pushback you recieve while rowing (by pushback, I mean the force of the raft moving while your character technically is not, thus making it look like the character can slide off the raft while rowing).

Hm, never tried to crouch while paddling. I'll try that. If it lessens that paddle-pushback, that would be great. So annoying having to press forward/shift back up again every 20 seconds or whatever.

I find that I always get bumped or tipped if I stop paddling. I haven't tried crouching though.

another tip from getting pushed off while crossing island zones in a motor raft
just rotate the direction from forward to reverse while staying on course.

Yeah..I never stop paddling in the middle of the ocean, unless I'm hot to dive in for a wreck or something. Which I'm not. Sharks do nudge the raft occasionally (not that often for me) but it just rocks it around a bit. Haven't fallen out of due to shark nudge yet. Maybe because I'm always adjusting where I'm standing in the boat, so I'm never riding the back edge when nudged. Dunno.
