is this game based on cast away?

I even heard there is a ball u can find too, unsure if it's the Wilson brand like the movie, but I doubt it's based on anything except a simple concept that hasn't been done in games very much.
The whole shipwrecked/ plain crashed and survival thing is more for movies, but works very well in the game too.

Definitely. Almost identical setup for Bioshock. Lara was also wrecked at the start of Tomb Raider (2013). I'm sure there are a lot more that are not immediately coming to mind.

Have u even seen the movie? Stranded deep takes place in the Pacific same with castaway Wilson is in both stranded deep and castaway the fedex box is from castaway and is in stranded deep and the life boat is from castaway and much more
