Totally.
Like I've already said in a previous post, in-game time does not exist at all. And that explains why lighting a fire just before going to sleep will have you wake up with the fire at the exact same "health" as the night before.
Game timer is a necessity for this type of game. Also a necessity is all elements would adjust according to the game timer. Thirst and hunger, cooking and healing would all have to adjust. Can't say that the speed of your boat should change though.
Agreed....as i already stated in another post, make the tiger sharks more realistic i.e. nocturnal PLZ!!!!
1s IRL = 10s IG while you are walking, paddling, swimming, eating
1s IRL = 10min IG while doing time consuming things such as chopping trees
Like this you can have longer days, but you don't spend 2h IRL chopping trees :)
My days at the moment consist of...
I like to be able to take my time, plan things out, come up with a strategy. At present, all my time is spent either eating or running frantically around trying to find something.
Since time doesn't appear to stop in the crafting menu, I even find myself skimming/rushing through descriptions because I'm aware time is slipping away.
I haven't been playing long enough to give a concrete suggestion on how time should work, but as it is I'm finding it rather irritating that I can't stop, look around and enjoy my little hut.
Learn to fish for archer fish, as they are an easy food source and require no cooking. Coconuts are an easy fluid supply. hunting for food and such should take less that 10% of your time, once you get the hang of it. you can survive without ever cooking, if that gets to be a hassle. I never cook anymore.
sleeping actually uses more food and water than staying up and working! collect supplies and build at night. just don't try to kill a shark at night... not a good idea!
After a while the night becomes a mnor issue.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try next time. I've been sleeping because I was hoping it would help with my health issue (too long underwater and (I think) being jabbed by a lion fish) meant that the first time I checked my watch, I was on 2 bars.
(Yes, took em a while to figure out the watch)
