Stranded Deep
Read or Listen to the Audio Book Called "Survivor Type" by Stephen King
Hi.

If you are ever wanting to get into the mood to play this game, pick yourself up a copy of the book, or the audio book called "Survivor Type" by Stephen King.

Do a Google Search if you wish to know what it's all about.

Most of the time I normally will listen to the audio version while I play the game, it feels as if I am this fellow, lost, and stranded.

later!

THE "Stephen King"? IE the world renowned horror writer? just what i need. he will make me afraid of the morning FOG! :D
I just listen to Markiplier's playthrough, I need something to laugh at while I cross the sea or else I'll flip out and nearly have a heart attack xD
For any fans of Steve King, I recommend the BBC miniseries "Darkplace".
That is indeed a really cool story!

Audio book though? Is it too hard to read through roughly twenty pages?

That isn't the point, the point is reading, and listening are two entirely different things. I listen to it as it's being read while playing the game which brings me more into the game itself, reading the story then playing loses the flavor almost right away since you rmind is in the game, and you will forget what the story brings to the game.

That is why I listen too it while playing the game, and yes reading isn't hard to do since your accusing me of taking the easy way out.

Hey, not sure of the availability of another book I have in mind but I once read an awesome book called "An Island to Oneself" by Tom Neale. Info on Wikipedia about it but it was a great read and made me think of it when I played SD.

I get your point, it's a totally legitamate approach I didn't think of. I will have to disagree about forgetting what I have just read though. If people would, no book ever written had any sense.

Sounds very interesting and I'll give it a read. It is readily available online.

I can totally reccomend mysterious island by jules verne. Bought it some time ago on iTunes to listen when I travel by train, I'm to tired to read in them :)
Its about a group of five souls getting lost on an lonely island and fight against mother nature. Gives me the "survival" mood all the time since hen.
@Omen3608 - Excellent! My dad gave me his copy a number of years ago and I read it as a teenager - it was already that sort of yellowish brown colour and a bit musty smelling from being in our loft with some of the other books - and I loved it.

@BlackDev - Another good book! :)
