How do I regenerate health?

Every time I load the game I spawn with zero health bars and I die after about two minutes. I saved the game while I was sick so now every time open it im still sick. I dont know how to regenerate health, I have tried eating and drinking. Even resting, by not doing anything. I really don't want to start a new game, cuz I have got a lot of tools and some engine parts.

keeping your food and water full helps, healing any ongoing conditions like food poisoning, bleeding, broken bones, and sea spine poisoning with the apropriate medical item will hasten this.

Medical items spawn in containers in wrecks. most commonly in the small wall mounted container, secondary in lockers.

You can find vitamins and morphine and such in sucken ships in the wheel house usually

You should watch your health, not eat bad things and build a bed and get some sleep.
I'm a 117 days old. Still pretty spry but I broke an arm once.

You "could" edit the save to heal yourself up a bit by opening it in notepad. Some consider it cheating but hey it's your single player game, so the choice is yours.

open the file save.json in notepad, it is located in the games Data folder. hit ctrl-f to search, the variable is called player_health. the status effects that you currently have are listed after that section as well. Full health is 5000 if I recall correctly.
