How do I get into this boat?

I just started the game, and I see a bunch of clickable stuff in the boat, but I've tried for 5 minutes to find a way in, and I just dson't get it. It' submerged in the water, I should be able to walk in. There's no way in underwater either.

If there's enough land (or very shallow water/sandbar) at some point near it, drag a chopped down tree to it and use it as a ladder (full tree, not sticks).

Otherwise, sometimes if you're close to the lowest shipwall point, look upwards and keep the forward-key pressed, you'll "jigger" your way up eventually, if you keep trying/moving around a little bit. It's clunky and frustrating, but I've made it that way several times.

For some reason, the developers haven't added in a function to climb the edges of boats like that, even though you can climb trees like a parkour monkey :P

Thought they would've fixed it and went to study a ship that was on land (Climbed a tree and jumped on it) and there was a hatch below the deck... Well, I can't climb out of the hatch. The edge isn't beyond my reach or anything, but the character just won't climb.

So ... I guess that was the end of my game then :(

So I think it's better you don't go in - or it just might be you can't come out.

I can climb trees? When I approach anything, nothing happens. I read that you can chop trees down, but I've yet to find one that's interactable.

Edit: Nevermind, I just had to find a palm tree, not a Yucca.

Yeah, the hatch thing is a purposeful deathtrap-challenge .. you're supposed to use the same tree you used to get on, in the hatch. Also frustrating to newcomers w/no foreknowledge. :/

I think it's directional, based on sight-look (approach, look up as you walk, climbs up the tree). Just the palm trees tho, not the decorative-only leafy trees. Need an axe or rock shard or knife to chop a palm down.

Only Palm Trees. No other ones.

That boat you should be able to get on if you stand on your raft and jump from your raft to the boat.

Only palm trees are climbable. Just walk up to them and keep going, up up up.

you could also drive/paddle your boat up to it and use that to jump over the railing, u can climb the motor the same way u can climb trees, or the ladder on the life raft

Thanks everyone. I still haven't made it into the boat, because shark, but those were some great tips. One last question, where is rope and how do I toggle crafft mode?

Cut a Yucca and you get 2 ropes/lashings.

At the top of these threads is a crafting guide you should read. To make a tool or campfire you just need to pile the ingrediants up on the ground close to each other and left click when you see the prompt that looks like an old floppy disc. To build things you need all the ingrediants in a pile and you Must have a hammer or crude hammer in your hand to get the prompt to build something.

Thanks, I found some guides and finally got started. Right now I'm being stalked by a land shark.

Sharks are quite timid actually. They're just there to scare you off, and most of the time, are easily afraid. Stare at it dead in the face and it'll swim off into the sea. Yes, they will come back, but once you're inside the ship -- you're pretty much safe.

I've seen so many boats like that. Go to the part thats most submerged and play with it, eventually you'll find your way in. Once you're safely on that boat, its too above water for any shark to come and attack.
