Raft motor- SLOW? help..
No idea if its just me or a bug or what ever.. well i managed to build the motor for a raft and i was all happy and fine.. But a few mins ago i cheked one of those "NEW!" live streams steam has put on, and a guy went on his raft with his motor and as he started going forwards i notice he was far quicker with his raft... I this normal? or is it just me on strange substances?

I built my first motored raft a couple days ago and it was far faster than paddling. It made exploring and gathering much easier. However, after loading my game today and jumping onto my motorized raft, it's suddenly not nearly as quick as it was. It's barely faster than paddling, if at all. It's very noticable, especially when turning. Everything else seems normal, the sound and appearance. I played around with reloading the game, filling up the motor with a couple jerry cans, nothing seems to get the raft going quickly again. I'm not sure if this is a bug or by design.

It's a bug, and the devs are working on it.

Thanks for the response, good to hear it will be fixed. For now, is there a way to get the speed back? Can I edit the save file at all? Or will it eventually rememdy itself? Or do you know if the raft is stuck at this speed now? I have enough materials to make another motorized raft if I need to, but not sure if this bug will affect the new raft as well?

The issue is that each time you save/load a game or travel to a new area, the engine starts to sag a little. After about 10 save/load/area cycles the engine is at a 45° angle or worse and this affects the efficiency of its propulsion since the velocity vector is no longer straight forward. Should be an easy fix for them as they need to suspend all physics handling code until all objects are loaded for a scene. This also affects objects falling through foundations, free objects inside/on rafts falling through as a new area is loaded, etc..

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. That means I can make another raft and i'll be useful for a while at least.

A rather logical load sequence............makes you wonder.
