Are shark sizes accurately scaled?
http://tiger.towson.edu/~sgreul2/great_white_shark.gif (size comparison of irl human and great white)

I could be wrong, but I think they sharks should be significantly bigger. Is there any reason to keep them as small as they are now?

That is a 21 foot great white, and I think that is about the largest they grow to, not the normal size.

All the graphs I've seen use 20 feet as the point of reference, so I take it around 20 is the average. Regardless, I believe the current shark models are too small, they'd be more like 10 feet or something.

Apparently 15 feet is the average, so in between what you want and what has been implemented.

Yes they could make some of them larger, wouldnt hurt.

I did some googling, most sites say that 20 or 21 feet is the largest ever recorded great white.

This article says differently, and makes some interesting arguments:

Only read if you are not paranoid about sharks!

Nice topic hijack. You bounced this straight off the poor lads megalodon thread. Bit rude.

But yeah, as discussed *there*, sharks are too small. There is absolutely no mistake when you meet a BIG shark. I've been there, seen it.

Yeah 15 sounds about right. Still though, they're still not quite 15 feet as of no that I can tell, and I also don't think embelishing size would be much of an issue here either, since intimidating sharks are such a vital component of the game. Perhaps size variation would be the best way to address this, wherein you have sharks ranging from babies to like megaladons (okay maybe not quite that size).

It says here, 6 meters, or about 18 feet is the largest ever recorded.

Actually I started thinking about it in my own thread, and coincidentally that guy made a thread about megaolodons right before it, after I'd already made this thread.

I know it's hard to believe, but it's literally just a coincidence.

Fking lame american "documentaries".

Gruff, hardcore sounding narrator, overly dramatic music, sound effects added that werent there (oh wow, crunch, he is squishing a peice of foam!) + (someone gurgling in the bathtub).

This "docutainment" crap stretches the truth so far, you dont know what really went on. He might have been completely calm and composed during that entire thing.

Was the shark an 18 footer? Could have been, hard to tell, but wouldnt suprise me if they were exaggerating.

BS. You were posting in his thread BEFORE you posted this thread. BS. You are utterly shameless and a fekkin' disgrace to the forum.

Mods. Lock this and give the other poor kid a chance.

I just used it as an example of how humans look relative to GW's, and just how absolutely terrifying coming into proximity with one would be.

Ya'know, except I didn't...

I'm 102% certain I made this thread before commenting on his. However even if it wasn't the case (which it is), his covers an entirely different aspect of the sharks than mine does.

Dont know about this video at the bottom. They claim it to be an 18 footer, but it doesnt look like it to me.

And if it was, and they reeled it in and put it next to the boat, why didnt they take pictures to show us. Load of cr*p i bet.

You could say that's some "fishy" stuff. :)

You have *already* posted stating he started the thread and you commented in it before starting this thread.

Here. THIS is what you said.

Now you want to obfuscate the topic intent to make it look *original*. We were in fact discussing this EXACT issue. (It's on the record mate - with your name on it).

Shame.

I really don't care whether or not you think I stole it, nor do I fully understand your desire to prove I did, nor does it matter if I did. You're acting like a complete child. I'm not going to waste my time on a "did to did not" discussion with you. You're a cancer, and you need to stop harrasing me and threads I create before I get moderaters involved.
