So what's up with shipwrecks not having doors and loot?
After traveling to another island via swimming and raft, every time I've searched shipwrecks around the new island, they never have loot or a door/hatch. Anyone else getting this glitch?

Ya I've had this happen to me. I think it's to do with the save/load feature of biomes.

I'm really hoping when they nix the raft bug they fix this one in the process. I think they are related to some degree.

Plenty of wrecks spawn without. I've documented about 1300 wrecks and only about half have loot. It does not appear to be a glitch as I've found side by side wrecks one with nothing the other full. An example today was a pair of the large 2 deck fishing boat. One facing the other with a depth difference of about 15 meters. The one closer to the surface was barren however the deeper wreck provided; in the two deck crates A roll of Duct Tape and a Torch, In the wheel house. A bucket, whistle, flare gun, fuel tank, bandage, and in the bunk room 3 more flare guns and a flashlight.

On the whole it seems the closer to the surface a wreck appears the less likely it spawns goodies. Some zones with have 5-6 empty surface wrecks but 2-4 deep submerged large wrecks.

I would buy that it's entirely intentional if the doors still spawned as well flux. The fact that there is nothing interactable in the ship in question makes it look like a giant juicy bug. If there were doors, or empty loot lockers it would be one thing.

However, ships are either spawning without (or despawning) all interactable items.

I've consistently been getting shipwrecks with nothing that can be interacted with as Marcus described each time I've traveled to another island.

I found completely empty fishing boats under water which were empty and basically just corpses of rowing boats on the shore of an island which a chest on it. It really depends on how far and where you travel. Made my base on an island with 2 fishing boats the same way flux described and I found loot the same way he did. The one outside the water was empty, the one almost submerged had loads of loot. I guess there is a pattern to it. We just have to figure it out..;D

I would only buy it as a bug if it were actually affecting all wrecks in a zone. There IS a bug that despawns EVERYTHING in a region, from the Palms and crabwholes to the entire wrecks and all fauna. Leaving only the terrain and static flora.

I've had the complete despawn happen to me as well. Annoying bug, but starting over is half the fun.

And in my experience when I have trouble with wrecks not spawning anything interactable, it IS everything in that zone/biome.

Another reason I'm convinced this is a bug is becuase I never find completely empty wrecks in the starting zone when loading up a new save game. It's only when new biomes are loaded that all the wrecks are empty. If it was deliberately so that some of the wrecks are completely devoid of doors and loot, then logically some wrecks aught to spawn minus doors and loot in the first zone, some of the time. In 10+ starts I've yet to see this.

In my screenshots there are Two similar shots inches apart that shows the door/case blinking problem. Please tell me that that is part of the game design of ships without loot (blinking/poping) OR accept that its a bug.

Texture load bug is something I can't help you with sadly. It's not appearing on my system.

Different bug Sockpuppet, but annoying as well. The loot is so close to within reach! Then poof. Has yet to happen to me. I have had the "item" bug where an empty wreck has the word "item" appear about the same place where a hardcase should be then have it dissapear.

At any rate, after thinking it through more, I think my stance on this one is that if fluxtorrent is right, and it ISN'T a bug it FEELS like a bug. Even when no loot is present, something should be present on the wreck. Be it just a door, or an empty locker, or anything interactable at all.

Edit: Until such a time as they do something down those lines I'm going to assume running in to 5+ empty wrecks devoid of even doors in the same biome/zone is a bug.

Marcus you could certainly help me verify if you'd like. Open a save file you've experienced the bug with and provide me the seed and a heading. I can verify if the same wrecks you are experience as empty are for me as well.

I would but I can't at the moment. I deleted my latest save file becuase it had the complete despawn on my home island. Curse my ocd emptying of the recycling bin! lol

I'll subscribe to this thread and after the patch when/if I run into the same issue I'll come back here. :)

sounds good. I've subbed as well

You can have my save file instead.

Report back as soon as you can.
