Why can't I craft?
I have the things needed to craft in a pile. I have the crude hammer to build and it won't let me build. Anyone know why? I stopped playing for a while and I didn't have this issue before. GTX970 8GB Ram, Win7, I3 Dual Core.

This has nothing to do with the problem above - seperate issue wihich I've learned to just not pile up a bunch of resources together and only have what I need to craft (but it still doesn't let me craft). Game runs OK most of the time unless I pile up a like ten sticks and ten palms. Then it lags out for minute and then goes back to normal.

You know that in order to craft you will have to keep the mouse button pressed for about a second (until the pointer is filled)? This has been changed a while ago.

put the stuff to the ground out of your inventory you can only craft if the stuff is on the ground . in experimental mode sometimes the game stuck ( by me most time when i have to mutch palm leafs and sticks ) save quit restart and it will go on. for the crude knife and the spear you have to smash/broke the stone in smaler peaces. one more if you want to craft roofs walls etc you have to put your stuff upsite or near the foundation only than you can craft.

I'll give all those a try. Maybe my items were not all touching the ground. And I didn't know you have to hold the mouse down. I was able to craft some things already like the spear and hammer, and axe and foundation but it just kind of stopped working. Thanks for the help.

Sometimes, it also might be you don't have the right amount of mats at hand. If in doubt, add more to your "stockyard" especially if you used up a portion of your mats-at-hand. Don't be fooled into thinking you had a great big pile, used it to build a foundation (for instance), then you want to build something (like a bed, another foundation, or whatever). It's happened to me a few times. :) Easy to simply add to the pile.

Yar, it's like, I build a foundation for my house, made the mistake of building a basic fire not far from my house, then wanted to make a "foundation grill" to place on the firepit when I should have simply just added foundations around the grill (making a "kitchen habachi"). I'm like, BLARST! I'm short of something! Welp, time to go paddle for like 5 minutes to the next island....

Kitchen hibachi. That's a good idea.

Dude, life is so much easier since a friendly person on these forums taught me it's easy to cook on the basic campfire if you just build a foundation over it. I've never been so happier in my life.
