Potatoes

Are they very rare or something? I only remember finding one potato right after I first started the game. Now I can't seem to find any. Any tips?

When I first started to play the game,I found one or two? in the ground. When I played about month ago, could not find any on the starter island.I'm asking same ?, did I look hard enough or the updated software wiped them off the game?. Hopefully someone in the chat knows this answer.

A large island will usually have two or three potatoes, smaller islands will have one or two. Occasionally there will be none. They're pretty easy to miss, so you can change the foliage level in settings to see the ground a bit better and make them more visible.

FYI, potatoes are a miracle in itself, you cut the eyes out- hopefully many?- and plant em-and get more eyes=plant em=etc!

I can usually Find at least one on a larger island. And then yes, I have to farm them.

If you don't have that kind of patience... if you want to do so, in the Steam Workshop, search for "potato", and find islands where the island creator specifically said "lots of potatoes". Subscribe to that island. In Cartographer, add that custom island to your 'world' (replacing an existing island...be careful not to replace an island you care about, like one with your AWESOME mansion or AWESOME farm...) Launch your game and sail to that custom island.

Harvest. Return if you wish, to your 'home' island, or if you chose a particularly lovely custom island, make that your new home base.
