of course you can use the doors, you have to loosen them with the axe form the inside (on the side frame). Look in the craft menue, they are even the only doors availabe there. And they even work (open and close). I bhave build two sheds with them.
Make a custom island and place it in the grid below the center, with all the mats to build whatever you want to play with the door/walls.
You can't carry the container parts. Swim or fly them to the mats island.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Containers are fun.
what you do is drag the container door onto your wooden raft.. and simply drag that raft along with you while you sit in the inflatable one.
or alternatively. position it in front of you. and paddle behind it. slowly making your way to the next island. i successfully transported a door quite a distance. but it did take some patience.
