Shipwreck Island and how to get enough water question
Hi I just found an island full of shiprecks, about 4 or 5 of them.

Problem is only one of of them can be accessed.

The others I need something to climb up on, only problem is the only trees on the island are small ones that yeild sticks and not logs, so I cant use a log to climb up on. I dont see how I could transport a full log across the water on my raft to use, though is that what I need to do? I thought I could use the barrels on the island, only I discovered they arent climbable.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Also, I am rapidly running out of water sources. I looted all the coconuts from all four surrounding islands, I thought that would last me ages but I am running out at a rapid rate.

I have 3 water stills and a water collector. Only problem its only rained once so the water collector is next to useless, and the water stills fill up at such a slow rate as to be almost useless as well. Any suggestions on how I can secure more water sources?

Thanks.

Water collector, you're doing it wrong. Fill a bucket with seawater, attach it to the spit, light a fire, boil it. The steam collects on the under side of the tarp and drips into the bucket hanging just below the tarp......that will be fresh water.

How to get into those ships? Try building something with those sticks......something tall....

Thanks for that, two questions? How do I know when the sea water has boiled enough? Does it make the usual ding sound like cooking a crab?

Also, with the water stills I have 3 of them, they are gradually filling up, but how do I drink from them? It says hold left mouse to interact, but when I do that nothing happens.

Crack open a coconut, take the drink, fill it up with water again by interacting with the still while holding the empty drinkable coconut. Or use an empty bucket. Interact with the still while holding the bucket. Your seawater will take awhile. There's a water meter with five water drop icons. When they are all solid white that means it's done. Usually a fire with 4 sticks burning will boil everything in the bucket, but I could be wrong there. It takes awhile. Fill your fire in the morning, fill your bucket of sea water, make sure your top bucket is empty. Light your fire, go away for the day. Come back to fresh water later on.

Oh one more question if I can:

Do the palm trees eventually respawn coconuts? I left them all standing on my island assuming they would, but if they dont I may as well chop them down.

Also you know those ships that you can go into the hold, but you cant get out again because its too high? How do you get out of those? Guess I need to build a foundation or something, but I am not sure whether it will allow me to build inside the ship's hold.

Not sure that coconuts respawn but I did manage to get in/out of the ships hold by using a piece of driftwood as a make shift ladder. Hope this helps:)

Thank you for the driftwood trick!
There is a buggy trick to get out of the ships. If you have a sail or a motor in your boat, and can put it very close to the ship, you can enter to the ship and see your boat through the ship's wall. Just use your sail or motor and you will appear in your boat.
Stay alive!
