GPU Squeal Noises when loads menu and hover mouse over menu options etc.
As title says GPU is making Squeal noises when game loads to menu and when hover over menu options and game tabs etc, And this is the only game in my library that is doing this.

So it's not my GPU, it's something with this game or perhaps something about my Rig and this game are just not Happy with each other ATM, lol..

Just thought I would post this in hopes the DEV'S might see it and look into if it is a Performance BUG or something.

My GPU is Asus Rog Strix, Nvidia, RTX 2080/S.

Seems to be GPU making the sounds when ever I move mouse over any of the main menu options You can hear it changing in pitch and loudness etc..

Like said this is the only game causing this..

Thanks.

as for the squealing itself thats a problem with your gpu's fan that is independent of any game, and should be something you look at as a separate issue, could mean the fan is starting to fail

fyi, the devs tend not to hang out in this forum. You might get an acknowledgement of your issue if you post your issue on their official forum. The official forum link is pinned above.

Personally, with 1.0, my audio seems to be 'set' to max or defaults. but the second I go into Options, Audio, it gets set to the settings I had chosen.

So you might want to try that... before starting or continuing a game, go into options, audio. do nothing but apply and return, then go start/continue your game, see if that matters. Probably not... but <shrug>, worth trying I guess.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The thing is that without an fps cap this game doesn't just put your gpu under load it will literally push it to maximum.

The only thing that should even be capable of squealing in the gpu is the fans (without some sort of other serious hardware flaw, which I can't even imagine), and at max load it will drive them to the max. Even then they should not squeal unless there is a problem with the bearings.

Simply put, yes the problem is the game, in that it is overtaxing your card for wasted frames. It's come up before and only shows up in certain cards. Limiting the fps will "fix it"

BUT the noise your card is making due to this issue is indicative of another issue you may want to address.

I "think" its a problem with unity's default detection, for most cards it does set right.

You are talking about coil whine which often happens when your GPU is outputting excessive frames per second. Nothing harmful but can be really annoying when the coils start to "sing".

If he's talking about coil whine then I will retract my fan comment, but I would never describe that sound as a squeal XD

"TomsHardware" website think that coil whine cannot happen with a fan unless the bearings are starting to fail. The fan circuit design has a maximum speed that it achieves, and the fan bearings should not make a sound up to that design speed. There is of course the sound of vibrations from the motion. Vibrations though never sound like a "squeal".
coil whine has nothing to do with the fan

Please explain.
Coil whine isn't a squealing noise, hence why I assumed he was having a bearing issue (they very much can squeal if they are unseated or otherwise imbalanced). If he was referring to the coil whine, that originates in the capacitors.

To give a very basic explanation: When a lot of power flows through the capacitors the coil inside starts to vibrate and at a certain point it will rub at itself or the casing. This will produce a very high pitched noise that can be very annoying.

We sent our comments at the same time and yours was still being verified so I didn't see it. I really can't get into depth about how and why coil whine is being produced here, but I looked up a LINK[www.cgdirector.com] for you that explains it quite well and gives you a basic understanding of the phenomenon including some examples. ;)
