Cant Open Console

Cant open console in coop. last time we played it worked, everything i read says its either tilda or \. neither work...

cant open dev console in multiplayer

I can open it in single player easily ` but i try every key and it doesnt open in multiplayer day 20 game. - pushing that opens some debug window but thats about it. Tried basically every key and they dont work is it a bug?

I don't think it is meant to be possible in multiplayer, most games have cheats/console etc. disabled in multiplayer for safety reasons :)

I've had it accessible while in a multiplayer save with a friend, but since about 2 or 3 weeks ago I haven't been able to open it in that same online multiplayer save.

I confirmed it was the right key bind, and it still works in single player and main menu, just not in online co-op anymore. Was there an update that disabled it?
If so that's a little disappointing...

Why isn't there an option to enable or disable it on a per game basis, rather than flat out disable it in multiplayer.

I tried emailing the beam team support email but haven't received a response.
If someone knows a way to re-enable it in online multiplayer it'd be much appreciated.

hi friend yes i can concur happens exactly the same with me. I found wemod and it works in multiplayer so thats what im doing now to spawn the tyres because i dont have a lifetime to get them.

Yeah I read it's disabled due to griefers, it is disappointing they ruined it for everyone.
But yeah it makes sense that an option to [Allow] or [Disallow] console would have been a better option the play can enable or disable.

But for now we will have to wait and see if they can work it out maybe?.
But I don't know, we turn on creative and build stuff and mess around privately.
Now that the console is disabled and the "Creative Mode" is not really creative mode looks like we are all sol lol.


And before someone replies, "just play the game normal" it's about having fun and killing time messing around building. We don't get a lot of time free to dedicate to a long play right now..

Both of you couldn't have said it better. I agree.

It's not about "Cheating" it's about making it more enjoying for the short time some people have to play, and being more creative sometimes.

Hoping to hear about or see some sort of setting for allowing it to be turned on/off for online multiplayer in the near future, otherwise I may just put the game aside until then.

well that sucks, it should be up to the players to decide. we have bugs and we'd like to do something to get around it.

LMAO! Same with my wife and I! wouldnt let me save my game forever, finally i adjusted the setting and saved those, hoping it'd give me a file but nope. Jumped off and it was gone. She donesn't even want to play anymore now. Would love to see this be possible.. Second game I've played (first was drug dealer sim) where it deleted my save. No fun.
