Unable to play multiplayer.

Hi, I just bought stranded deep to play with my brother around 30 minutes ago, once we tried to play we got past the introduction etc, but when it came to load world it was stuck on 0% sync world for 1 hourwe eventually got tired of that and stopped trying
anyone know anything about this bug, and/or a solution.

My wife and I had the same issue and the only way we were finally able to get past it was to have different external IP addresses. Its not entirely Peer to Peer, it uses a central service for registering your server and handshaking. Seems the problems occur when both people are on the same local network, although there may be other cases as well. Since you only have 1 router and your ISP only assigns you 1 external address you both have the same external IP, even though internally you have different local ones.

There are 3 ways I can think of to have different IPs:
1) one of you can use a VPN service
2) get a second IP from your ISP
3) use a different network

All 3 solutions cost money.

In my case I simply tethered off my cell phone which already had a high allowance for network traffic, but since its a different ISP through cellular, it solved the problem immediately. Once it did start working we had almost no other issues and it was fun to play. Eventually I did hit my cap and we simply stopped playing.

Internal network isolation, like guest networks still have the same external address, so using those won't work.

For those of you still experiencing problems with the latest update, the simplest solution is to play an earlier (stable) version of the game to eliminate the bugs you're experiencing, wait for these issues to be ironed out by the developers, then update the game to the latest version when it's ready. This means you may not be able to play CO-OP right now. Be patient—the developers have always fixed bugs in the past, and they will fix these as well. Just give them some time.

That's not good enough though is it ? i just bought this game to play multiplayer i don't play single player and i bet there is many more in my boots.

I figured it out. Go to hidden file. Remove the cache and start the game. It works.
File Explorer-> C drive-> User-> (your device name)-> AppData-> LocalLow-> Delete away Beam Team Games folder. Once done. Run your game. It should work. Should be able to play Online with your friend now.

well... it is a game in early access and coop was basically just added 2 patches ago. so if that was your only reason to buy it... well... you shouldn´t have maybe. now you might want to be patient, since patches don´t come fast. coop has tons of issues atm. i tried, but won´t bother anymore until it really works.

singleplayer in this is fun though.
