Why doesn't CampFire appear in my Crafting Window?
I am struggling so hard with this. I use the C key to open a circle of items i can craft and I can't get the camp fire made because it doesn't appear in the crafting window. Like I am using the C button, is there another way to access items i can craft. I believe I have all the items, I have a pile of wood, stones and I crafted Rope, is there anything eles I need to make a camp fire besides wood and stones? Are there multiple menus for crafting, I am stuggling so hard just to get set up before it gets dark and I die of hunger and no water.

How do I craft a camp fire?

Don't hold the C button down, just tap it. Holding it down will activate the radial quick craft menu, while tapping it will bring up the regular one.

OK i got it thanks. I will say this game looks really cool but I just can't get astablished no matter what I do. the days go by way to fast, I just got bit by a crab and I died, nobody dies from crabs and they don't attack people and I died many times from what I think was a snake bite but never saw or could find the snake.

If you could adjust the days to be longer then 10 minutes or what ever it is that would be bettter, when your first trying to get astablished and then it gets dark you can't do anything and you die from lack of food or water and then you have to travel to another island to get matts and by the time you get there you die. I have played a lot of survival games and this one is super hard not suree how i am going to even get started.

I will have to try watching some videos on how people get set up with food and water at the get go.

Probably a bad idea on videos.
Last time I looked they were months and in some cases at least a year behind, and the whole thing from the ground up is different.
Some ol' time tips for you:
Find two rocks straight off.
Press "C" and craft stone tool. You now have a slow to cut but useable tool.
Get stick and start gathering all the fiber you can.
Create Stone Knife.
Gather rocks and fiber, craft stone hatchet as soon as you can.
During this period you can use coconut for water and eating. One nut gives one water level. You dont need to be maxed unless your trying to heal. One nut gives food also when eaten.
At your leisure you can craft shelter, but easier to get ax first. Often you have to leave your first island to effectively create shelter and have more access to mats.
With the experimental version the sun and cold is much better, simply dont run around in the hottest part of the day in sunshine. Its a good time to assemble your shelter or work on ' housekeeping' hut.
Be on the lookout for tarp and three ( 3 ) rocks for water still. Build that as SOON as you decide where you want to live. Still with one or two coconuts = water for life.
Food, the still easiest way is to get a smoker as soon as you can, fill it with even small meat. Safe and easy to acquire as you set up your life from small fish, they are one food each, and no spoilage in smoking. Ever. So you can have an everlasting meat tray in the smoker.

Crabs do extremely little damage, I think you have to be pinched 12-15 times before losing a single health bar, so you were probably close to dying at that moment.
Snake bites makes you lose somewhere between 0,5 and 1 health bar, so not really that dangerous either although they sometimes provide a little jump scare :D

Stranded Deep is nowhere near being a hard survival game, but it can be a bit confusing in the beginning, but once you have learned how the user interface works and have gotten some experience with the dangers and how to avoid/minimize them, you will never look back, the best way to master a game is through trial and error, learning from your mistakes :)

That's also a good way to learn about a game :)
Food and water is the 2 most important things to take care of, although you can get food and water from coconuts, you will soon find out that they are a limited resource, so crafting a solar still will provide you with infinite water and a fishing spear will make you able to spear enough little fish to feed an army, but be careful, Heatstroke/Flu can drain your thirst and hunger bars very quickly until you get rid of them by seeking shelter :)

Your correct, thanks for taking the time to reply to my posting. Yes i was almost dead and looking for fiver to make rope and in the grass i got bit by a snake, that was the final straw, lol

I think the more I die the more I learn and will get better at getting through that first two steps of getting food and water. I am thinking I need to set up water first because it takes 3 ingame days to produce. I think my downfall is I can't find any buckets so I need to work on that.

Thanks for the help, back to work here see if i can get a foot hold and astablish myself.
