And then realize it's not only a waste of time but it's not even fun.
The best fish I've ever caught was a Cod fish.
The time it took to wait for it to "bite" and reel it in all the way, you coulda just dove down and speared 3 or 4 codfish.
So if you don't have antidotes and need some fish; it's a way to get a couple to tide you over. But I agree, other than that specific scenario, it is much more efficient to craft a fishing spear and go into the water for fish--despite the dangers.
