for more detail... 1) have a raft section with a raft floor; where you don't have anything else on that raft floor (no mast, no canopy). 2) have 3 planks (I think it's 3; I forget now exactly how many). 3) go to craft menu; the one with the furniture . Find Container Shelf. Craft that, and you can attach that to the raft floor.

You can add 3 containers to that container shelf. They won't fall off even in rough seas, or even if the raft gets flipped.
