Stranded Deep

6 Years in early access
I've had this game on my wish list for 3 years now and it was (according the steam) released in 2015. Periodically, I check to see if this game is ready, but it never is. Many of the 'early access' games that I had on my wish list have now been abandoned and I'm concerned that the same thing will happen here.

Granted, there have been regular updates but 6 years? Is there an end to the road?

I have my own gripes about the game but honestly for the price its not bad or unplayable @ this point single player anyway as far as i know. Its fun and the underwater is done very well in my opinion most games do underwater lighting poorly at best

your argument is valid, so the following is just for everybody's information.

Stranded Deep started as a two men's project, but it is not anymore. Now two other companies are involved (Fun Labs and North Beach Games).

Stranded Deep was released as a full game for only consoles on 21 April 2020. The PC version is still in early access as of 2021.

On April 29, 2020, the console versions received update 1.02. The update fixed bugs and glitches, as well as refining some game play functions.

Game development is just not as easy as one might think.

Tezbo, I feel honored to be "plagiarized" in line with Wikipedia. Nice text collage! :steamhappy:

Personally wouldn't bother with this game. It was fun in 2015 but quickly got turned into an unplayable mess. Sharks leaping up from under the sand to kill you, and snakes descending on your corpse. It was a pretty chill with anxious moments type game at first but that quickly changed.

I use to reload and update the game every 6 months or so. I stopped doing that around 2018. Every time I'd see a note about fixing the sharks coming onto the island but nope - still an issue. When they updated the engine in 2018 my computer could no longer play it. I have a better machine now but I'm not going to bother redownloading it. Worst game purchase I've ever made.

That's the first reason why i'm not playing this game anymore.
We bought it on 2015 and had to wait something like 1 year at least to become roughly playable and that was not a problem to wait.
But now, almost 7 years later the game is still stuffed of massives bugs (even the shelves can't be placed on your raft's floors they have to be "floating" 1 meter above) and i can read that devs are saying the game is almost done :O that's a joke. Is this the content of your finished game with 7 years of development ?

This is so sad because this game could be one of the best real surviving games.

Another thing : please people stop saying that game dev is not easy and always be finding apologizes for developpers. Most of people knows that dev is not easy, but they also knows that many develppers are really better in their jobs and we can't find any apologize to these developers who don't know enough about it. Nothing is easy when creating. If you try to create a game, it haves to be at least contesting other games on many points despite the dev team is not enough large. Be honest, 7 years for this ... some devs mades a better game with many less time than this with little team. Dead Corpses are still flying and acting weird while killed omg, fighting system is so bad and unrealistic.
