Wish they would fix the smoker

I love my smoker, but it sucks that you have to knock it down and rebuild the whole thing because of the wood pile. They should make it or fix it to where you can just knock out the old firepit and replace it with a new one.

Eh? You don't need to knock it down. Just add sticks to the fire and it will keep replenishing.

Not only that, even palm frond or fibrous leaves could be used to refill.

i have tried this and it won't smoke once I add another fire to it and it won't allow me to knock the old one down either.

I have to ask this because it got me for a bit since they changed it and I didn't notice. Did you wait for the second ding? First ding is when the meat is cooked. The second is when it is smoked.

Yep, I know the second is for the smoked meat but when the fire it totally out, I can not replace the fire with a new one and the smoker still work. It'll cook but not smoke and it won't let me destroy the old one either. I seen it done on a youtube video but it won't let me. Says it is still needed for another object even though I put more sticks in it. It still won't allow me to destroy the old ones. Rather irritating so I just knock the whole thing down and build again.

If the fire goes out before you replenish the sticks, palm frond or fibrous leaves you will need to relight the fire.

Did you craft a new campfire on top of your other empty campfire? if so then your campfire will probably not interact with your smoker anymore resulting in only cooked meat, if your first campfire is empty you just need to replenish with sticks, fibrous leaves or palm fronds like other ppls said here.
