How to change the length of the day?
I used to play this quite a bit. Then I took a break from it for 6 or 8 months. I know there was a console command to change the length of the day/night cycle, but I cant remember it anymore. Can someone help me out please? :)

It's
dev.timescale xx
where xx is a number, the lower, the longer the day/night cycle.
There's also a mod on nexus if you don't want to do it every time you play, bc it's not saved over.

I haven't used this command yet myself. What is the standard "xx" number used by the game? Also, how much time is subtracted (or added) to the game by increasing (or decreasing) the number by 1?

Finally, does changing the number affect anything else in the game, i.e. cooking cycles, how long you can hold your breath underwater, etc.?

My number I like to use is 14 or 15, and no, the number does not change anything else.

Hey BB, 36 would be game default, with 1 being realtime. I mostly use 18 ingame (so double as long), with the nexus mod + modmanager.

Changing the timescale does influence certain internal game mechanics. You won't notice that ingame, but trying to load a game that was saved using a different timescale will most likely break your game (i.e. empty islands). So make sure you are comfortable with your timescale settings before starting a game.

Thanks for the additional information everyone; if there are any other details you can think of, I'd be interested in hearing them.

Remember to make protective head gear from your extra raw leather. It helps against the sun.

Hey M4SON13, how do you make protective head gear?
