I thought I shared this last night, and I had written up a small post about it. But I guess I did not hit "post comment"
I was probably still too busy laughing about how desperate people are for my seed to notice.

First one got the cargo ship on starter isle,
the second has the most comfortable layout on starter isle i've ever seen,
plus a heckton of wrecks without the cargo (i-win-button) ship.
See for yourself.
@Queenie: i'm sure you'll love that one
Create another island; and you choose to only put a 1 wreck on it, palms, and 1 potato plant.
As long as you, when you save it, don't call it "Rocks Here", or "just one wreck", but call them all random names--by the time you make 10-20 custom islands with random names and random 'stuff'... you'll likely forget that the island you called "Trefin" is where you put just and only rock; and the island you called 'Corrila' is where you have just 1 wreck and no rock; etc. etc.
Then create a new world, and place your made-it-yourself custom islands with limited loot and limited resources around the map; replacing the vanilla islands.
I agree with you 100%. Some islands are literal junkyards.
However, what you must understand is that the Island Building Program in the Cartographer has very limited assets—such as shelters and wrecked boats. And they all spawn loot. When you're building an island—especially a large one—these are the only things you have to decorate your island and try to make it interesting (and to create exploration opportunities for players).
Among other things, I have requested that the developers allow island builders to turn loot spawn on and off for the above assets. Then we can limit the amount of loot on the island, while still using the assets to decorated it properly.
I've also asked for different colored plants and the ability to change the size of objects—such as rocks and plants. This would give island builders a lot more tools to create better islands and make the game more interesting.
If you want to read the full post, it's in the "Ideas and Suggestions" section on page 1. The title is: "Cartographer - Island Building Program." Feel free to add to the suggestions.
of the ones listed already, 88236421 is good if you are looking to get through the end game scenario; because the boss fights and end game stuff is all in the North; so it's easy to get to them.
If you are looking for a good starter island, 52551168 already listed by someone else) with it's 3 rock, 3 yucca, and an assortment of plants already there is nice.
Not yet listed: 3030415: 3 yucca, 3 rock nodes, 3 pipi <nice>, small red container, 5 wrecks and a plane in the deeper ocean to find. No fruits; but for me... having lots of pipi for antidotes is usually priority #1 . The Boss' are scattered, though. But if you want a nice starter, this could be one to try. For my style of play (which is make a raft as fast as possible, and start exploring), this works well for me--to get a lot of lashings, raft bases, and the possibility in those wrecks of additional cloth to make raft components; put up a 2 story shack with a red turret to see from afar, and I'm good to go wandering, and be able to see home isle from a ways off.
Interesting, only 1 number differs from the one i posted last...
Do we have the same weird system of experimenting with new seeds?
XD
Thank you Punkie, I need to try the 80304050 one! I haven't played for a few weeks now, felt a bit burn out, but I can't stay away from this game for too long.
BB I agree with all you say. I have tried to create my own islands (with very sad results, to be perfectly honest), and I have seen how little there is in terms of decorations and focal points to make an island stand out. I was particularly surprised to see very little colour. Apart from the aloe and the vavavula plants, all is just green. Thinking of those incredible tropical colours we can see in the real world, it is weird to have such an all-green-no-flowers theme all over.
And the ability to change dimensions without haing to dab into the map files would be great. Lately I was trying to make an enormous tyre, and I thought it would be easy; actually it is not, because the last object you place is not always the last on the file, at least it wasn't in my tyre's case. The map making tool is not great.
Last world I was playing is 26491523, very decent seed, boss and carrier islands in the extreme South corner: that's very convenient for me, as I always try to avoid them.
40389368
The carrier and 1 boss are adjacent to the starting isle, the other two being far to the south and west.
There are 3 yuccas, 3 potatoes, 3 pipi, 3 rock nodes and an extreme amount of young palms.
I managed to get every single piece of those, no spawn-in-spawn here.
I also got every chunk of clay of this isle without problem.
A whopping 10 wrecks left me with a raft of 6 tiles, 4x tire, 2x barrels.
So yes, i think it's awesome, best starting conditions i've ever seen.
I like them relegated to a corner of the map
Nevertheless, when I get to the game again, I'm gonna give it a try, thank you Punkie!
88226421 The Boss' are West of you (toward the top of the map, if looking at the Cartographer), and the carrier is the furthest away.
Starter isle is "ok", not awesome, but ok enough to start with: 3 yucca, 2 stone, 2 pipi, 1 potato, 2 aloe, 1 quwawa, 2 ajuga. There weren't many wrecks (imo). I ended up leaving the starter isle asap.
Edit: Wow!! Great map. Im even going to make the starting island my base island. Thank you for sharing that gem of a map.
