Yucca + Fruits = infite survival?
Well iam not at that point that i have alot of them but if have some yuccas alread and 2 fruit trees.
So my idea is when i can get my supply of yuccas up for constant water supply and also enough fruits wouldn't i be able to survive infinite?
I mean tools wouldnt be necessary than.
What am i missing?

The problem will be stone eventually to make the tools to cut down the Fibrous Leaves/Yucca to make water.

collecting your yucca would slowly degrade your cutting too (knife or axe)l, but yes that would take a loooong while to have exploited every single rock on the map.

now you can concentrate on less tedious tasks like exploring, finding the bosses and the endgame :) fight sharks maybe ?
why not build the gyrocopter or refine your own fuel ?

it's basically a sandbox

Ye right, i guess thats what i missed there. :D

Ye thats what i started recently, Iam exploring the map now. I found Wolly :D
And i will fight the sharks now too..
Gyrocopter would be nice too but i didnt even found a single part yet

More yucca is not the answer to infinite survival. As Cosmo said, stone is eventually the problem. But in a previous post, I proposed a solution. I plan to try it, but have not yet proved it out. Simply put, the problem is cutting down the yucca. But if you have noticed, stills will fill with rain water. This mostly shows up as leftover leaves fill when rain occurs. But if you have enough stills (# unknown), as a group it will rain enough to fulfill your needs and the fruit garden needs.

ye so the fruits and free water are the key;

what i also just noticed that plants can die when i leave my island too long so the trips should be planed a little bit.

Make sure that you use plank or corrugated garden plots. They hold 8 units (days) of water verses 4 for a wood plot. Also, if you are forced to be gone too long, don't clear your plots; just water them. The plants will re-grow. Make sure your plots are full of water when you start your trip.

Oh so thats why the plank ones take up more water.
But wait are you saying if a tree/plant dies i can still recover it? Iam pretty sure i couldnt water them after that anymore.

Never tried it, but that what was going around in the discussion. I do know that the flowers and fruits will be spoiled. I do know that if you clear the plot and replant the spoiled flowers and fruits they will regrow.

REally? In my world I found enough parts for almost 2. I now just need to farm potatoes to make fuel
If you are playing a world with the aircraft carrier (the end game component) you will find 3 gyrocopter parts near the plane you may (or may not) choose to repair.

Negative = stone tool has infinite usage i.e. no decay/degrade. It can be used to cut down yucca. So infinite survival is possible.

You must be on an older build, as this is not the case.

I use up my stills until they are dry and then I lash a coconut in to a flask for the +1 free water.

I have a fruit farm of size 5 in the heavy duty plots that I eat.

I have 6 stills at the moment and a mountain of coconuts that keeps growing because I can't use them up quick enough.

I've no idea what the 'sweet spot' number of stills is but it can't be much over 6.

This information is wrong... Stone tools most definitely degrade with use.
