Rafts; walls and roof

Is it possible to add walls to a raft? like the half walls maybe? or a roof overhead? seems like something that would be a good addition

Agreed atleast a shelter so you can save and a campfire so you can cook... and the silo so you can have water, then youd be able to live on the raft and explore longer

and its not that far fetched to be able to do that in a rl survival scenario. also I wish you could make the hobo stove or campfire inside a building, no matter how high you put the foundation.

Confirmed as not happening I believe. Best we could hope for is storage on rafts, maybe.

Would we really need that feature at this point? I could imagine it's use if the distance between islands was greater but not right now.

I just play Raft every once in a while to get my house boat jones.

Like Papa Zero says, houseboats is confirmed to never happen, however some sort of official raft storage might be something they are considering :)
You can however pinch a bed to raft floor with spears and save there, but saving between biomes will cause you to load swimming in the water and the raft will be gone forever.
My theory on this:
I think the game saves the state of a biome when you save the game or leave an island.
Saving will save the state of the current island and all your stats and progression.
Loading a game will load your stats and progression and the current biome state, but if you saved between islands there will be nothing to load except your character :)

Raft storage was mentioned a long time ago. I can't find the post at the moment. It was around the time of the Great Paddle Debacle.

Personally I don't really care for an actual house boat. It seems to go against the grain of the game in some way.

I'd like some basic storage capability though. That way you could stock up for extended voyages. You will still have the risk/reward factor that's in the game but not solely be living off the raft.

That said I agree that it would be cool with a real storage to the rafts.
You can design your raft with a middle section without floor for storage, it will keep crates pretty stable on the raft as long they can't slide, so far I haven't lost a crate using this method while sailing between islands :)

I would just like to be able to add a small roof or at least some half walls to my raft

I've tried the floor missing in the middle for my storage and it worked great. The only downside I saw was getting stuck on the lip and it saying press x to climb onto raft. I agree storage on the raft would be nice even if it's just being able to place crates I find on it without them flying off.

You can build a Plank Shelf on your raft that holds crates.
