Really? I thought sunstroke and sunburn was removed. last time I played which was around November, I did not see any sunburn and have not seen anything in the patch notes about it. Interesting. :)
That is exactly what I am thinking. It would be pointless to add a shade canopy if it was useless. So, I assume the sunburn or sunstroke will be coming back.

How long did it take to get sunstroke, and is the canopy even worth crafting since I'm rarely on the raft for more than 1 game hour? (Usually traveling between base islands)
Maybe about 1 hour in game time, give or take a few min. I built 4 wood foundations, when I finished the 4th I had sunstroke. In game time was around 11:30 am-12:00 pm, temp was around 110 F, high UV. I don't have a canopy built, I took shade by a high cliff on the pine island I call home. I have a hut built and I'll build a canopy to test on the next high UV day.
I think the sunstroke is more to do with the UV than the temp. While in the shade I noticed the temp rise .1 every 5 sec, with a high of 114 F. After 1:30-2:00 pm the trend reversed -.1 every 5 sec and I had no problem being out of the shade.
