If you go on their twitter feed splitscreen/couch coop is the first step to a future coop mode:
Steams new remote play feature if you are able to use it (I know it isn't for everyone) it doesn't change it from being split-screen but does enable you to play online.

This has never been said. What's been said is they're planning to add it.
but do you know not every pc player have a controler at home and we dont want a split screen,we want full screen.
Beam Team ordered it from Amazon but I think the shipper used FedEx and it's stuck on an island with Tom Hanks
Honestly it may be in the works, but we don't care. There are other games that have 'multyplayer' if that's what you're after.
