Problem at start up. App needs .NET Framework 3.5

I have windows 10 which I believe has Framework 4.5 Downloads then I get error code 0x8E5E0147. How do I fix it?

Win 10's current version is NET Framework 4.7.2

Yes I have the current version NET Framework 4.7.2 for Windows 10. The problem is that it will not work on that. I keep getting the error message and retry when downloading .NET Framework 3.5 for the App to work. Developers could you please get the App to work with the current Windows NET Framework 4.7.2 ?

if that was the problem then everyone with Win 10 would not be able to play the game.
and I am playing on Win 10.
Its possible (although unlikely) that 3.5 specific version is missing from your folders, look into it and do some research. Your Win10 is basically jacked the F up

Windows 3.5 is missing and I have tried the above with no luck. There was a Windows Update in July. All I get from Microsoft is wait for fix. I do launch from Steam. I was playing Stranded Deep before but have just got a new computer. All the other games Rising World, House Flipper etc play OK.

I find that hard to believe to be honest. Are you sure you are running a legit copy of Windows 10?

Definitely is a legit copy of Windows 10. Windows is Auto Updated so all I can think is maybe something went wrong. Could have been a bad connection they have been playing around with broadband cables and phone lines etc in the street. Will call IT expert to come solve the Stuff Up. Thanks everyone.

I ran into this issue as well. Actually, not only with this game. My computer will not install .NET framework 3.5 (believe me I have spent days troubleshooting this issue.) With Stranded Deep, however, I found a work around. If you go to the local files folder and run the 32 bit version as administrator, it will let you play it. I know this is less than ideal, but it is what it is.

The .Net 3.5 framework was released by Microsoft in 2002 and is now out of date and doesn't ship on Windows 10. It is not recommended to install it on Windows 10 as it's so dated, and has numerous known vulnerabilities that aren't patched.

For a "Modern" game to be using a 20 year old programming framework is completely unacceptable. No one should be forced into installing an ancient insecure framework just to play a game. The developers should be utterly ashamed there is literally NO excuse for using such an ancient framework as the .Net 4 framework (that replaced .Net 3.5 and is now on .Net 4.8) shipped in 2010 (11.5 years ago).

My computer is running fully updated Windows 10 and I had no issue sinking 100+ hours into the game in October. The issue is 100% on your end. Don't blame Microsoft.
