Potato problem

I have finished the gyrocopter and the boat motor but i havn't seen any potatoe plants, i even used the flying of the god mod and i've searched for so long and still nothing does anyone have and explanation ?

Luck of the draw I'm thinking...

My first two games I had no potatoes on my island nor any nearby islands that I could find. My 3rd game and there are/were (not sure as I haven't seen them grow back where I found tyhem) 2 potato plants on my starting island.

on nearly every island you have 2 potatoes, inside the island, not near the beach... if you bring them home spoiled you can always distill them... if not, you can build a random island with potatoes on it...

Yep, they are tough to see, I've searched and found nothing and gone back to the same island and came across them by accident. It seems to get easier to spot clay as time goes on, potato's, not so much (at least for me)

for sure, you have 8 clay spots per island, normally you can find 5/6, potatoes only 2 spots

Hmm, interesting as I've never seen clay so far on my islands.

the clay can you find in the water around the island

This has got to be BS, I've checked over 5 islands with the sole purpose of finding a potato plant and haven't found one. I've combed the islands in the middle of the day and seen nothing, yet you're saying there's 2/island. Either my game is bugged (i've encountered a handful of which) or what you said is false.

fast solution:
make a island with some potatoes with cartographer. put it next to your position. enter game and harvest some of them. save game and remove the hand made island. play the game and put the potatoes in plant plots.

Well sorry for you, i've always found potatoes on every island, sometimes only 1, so is not BS

i found 1 or 2 potatoes on every island, so is not BS for me, but perhaps comes from random creation of the islands, so i'd just be lucky... for sure graf schokola gave you a good idea...

The potato plants are quite easy to overlook.
