If you prefer a finished game, early access is to be avoided!
Crafting a coconut flask is simple and easily doable right at the start. All you need is a stone tool to harvest some fibrous leaves to make lashing and then a coconut. The biggest issue is with the tutorial. The order should be to craft a stone tool so that a solar still and coconut flask can be crafted as water is the number one priority in such a scenario. Food and fire should be next then shelter last. And the start point should always be near an island with the necessary resources. I started new several times and didn't notice the issue with a lack of resources on the tiny islands because at start I instinctively went for a bigger island despite being closer to the tiny one. Hopefully they will put in a proper tutorial once the game is closer to release. And maybe add some excitement to the start by having the raft surrounded by sharks thumping it like they like to do at times and the first message saying something like, "Sharks! Get to an island now!"
