'Driving' the Raft
Alright...something is up with the mechanics of the raft, or it's just me.....LOL. could not get it away from the island to head to second one no matter what I did. I dragged it out as far as I was allowed to and no matter what directional buttons I pushed the raft would not budge.

Well damn ok that makes sense :) I was following along with the tutorial and It didn't mention that I don't think. I'll restart and verify that. It just stated time to take the raft and visit another island or something along those lines.

If you're talking about the starting raft it has an oar/paddle attached to it. You have to pick it up (oar/paddle) and then use the raft and then you'll be able to row your boat. You can also put the oar/paddle back on it's clip/holster when you're done with it. The rafts you build require a sail or motor.

When you build a raft, keep in mind you also need to build the needed equipment to make it move. In the crafting menu under 'Vehicles' you can craft a sail, rutter, ancor and motor to operate the raft you build.

The standard raft you start with is operated with the pedal which is attached to the side of the raft.

It was. Originally I was trying to take out the survival raft again and could not get it to go. I have since been making my own rafts and it is working just fine.

yeah, I usually don't get off my starting island until i've built my own raft. I usually just let the starting raft drift off or use it as a dumping bin for fibrous leaves
