What sea creatures can I kill?

I've tried to kill a few sharks, they dont hurt me, I can't hurt them. One shark attacked me once, and but my spear went right through him and wasn't hurting him - not that I could see at least. Do I just need to keep hitting him, is there no animation? Kind of similar to destroying a shelf, where you just keep hitting it until it dissapears, there is no sound or animation?

Also, big grouper. Sometimes the same thing happens with them, my spear goes right through them. I hit them 10+ times and nothing happens. Other times I can kill them with no problem. any ideas?

Essentially any sea creature that has a visible "name tag" when you get close to them, can be killed... the smallest shark (has no name tag) cannot be killed and cannot attack you.... I believe all other sharks are dangerous and can be killed.

Things that I know can't be killed (just in the game for atmosphere / scenery) is turtles, sting rays, sea snakes, the small sharks, clown fish(orange and white)... there may be others, but generally if they don't have a name, they are just for show.

As far as groupers go, I noticed that they might be a little buggy...

Using the fishing spear and just stabbing at them seems to be ineffective, or there is some hit box mechanic that I haven't found yet.... Throwing the spear seems to hit it just fine and generally dies and floats up to the surface with 2 hits... same goes for spear gun... 2 shots > dead.

I've been able to kill grouper with two hits from the fishing spear and the refined spear, without having to throw at them.

yup I can kill it with two hits with fishing spear, but there is a chance I just can't kill him at all. But when I can, its fishing spear two hits.

Ah good, other people experience this, thats all i was looking for lol, to see if it was my game specifically or a known issue

Perhaps you could find a drowning Bigfoot/Sasquatch and kill that :P
