Tips for fighting sharks

Okay, since new update everything has changed!

If you don't mind, Please share your tips and tricks for killing the buggers dead!

They're a real threat now and it's hard to tell wether you've got a hit in or not.

I can confirm that chasing them with a crude knife doesn't work :)

in a couple of custom maps i put in some "deer blinds" down in the water that you can get into. take some air with you and you can stay under for quite awhile but if you stick your head up to far you will lose it. build a foundation just above the water where you can stand on it and wait for them. sometimes they take a while to come back but they will. i use spear and arrow combo. i stick them with a spear so you can spot them easier and finish with arrows. you can tell when you hit them because they will move faster and wilder. find a place that has shallow water so you can retrieve the easier. also if you make the kill while they are coming at you you have a better chance of them jumping onto land.

This is a whole diffrient story when 5 feet away from a seafort and a great white shark BITES YOU INSIDE YOUR RAFT!

Didn't you actaully do that once? killed a shark with a knife? lol

A few times to try and out-do a certain 'Evil-Robot' lol .....thing is they were slow ..er back then so the trick was to stay as close as possible and not let them swim away and turn.
It wasn't always successful as you need to breathe occasionally...if they turned you got hugged ...a lot lol

I'm glad regeneration at least got removed, given they now respawn and can be MUCH more aggressive, but also retreat intelligently. It would be neat to see sharks also tire and die from injuries and blood loss, though - it'd turn survivor vs shark duels into a real battle of wits and nerves.

Same :P I wish you could just shoot them with an arrow and run away then go find their dead corpse floating in the water (it would sink in stranded deep :I)

right now I'm just spamming crude spears from a platform I stuck way out on a shelf I found. They look like absurd pin cushions in the end but it's the most resource efficient way to kill them. Once I have leather surplus I will convert to refined spears.
