IS there ONLY tiger sharks?

There are Reef Sharks in shallow waters and Great Whites in deeper waters too.

excuse me im new to stranded deep. i downloaded it not too long ago i believe, but i have an old update and im not sure how to get the newest update. help please?

There are currently (as harmful animals) tiger sharks, great white sharks, marlin, snake, sea urchin, lion fish, and crab. (Did I miss any? let me know! :)

Steam should update automatically when you go to start the game, if you look bottom left when the game has loaded it should say '0.36.00'

If it doesn't you may need to verify your install files by right-clicking the games name in your steam library list then going to properties, Local files tab then clicking 'Verify Integrity of Game Files'

They were never technically out, but they weren't in/on normal islands. you would first have to make one and add them to an island.

Then you haven't visited a sea fort(the normal ones, not the missions) or been diving/swimming out on the deep waters between islands, I often see them there :)

@dannyboy, great whites are out there but they are slightly harder to spot due to their colour not being that different to the water itself. Tigers are much easier to spot. As for Marlins, my character is 25 days in game and I have yet to see one. I wouldn't bother with the great whites though. Not much point in killing one. Once they die they just sink into the deep so you will end up losing most of the arrows or spears you hit it with and probably won't manage to harvest much off of it before it is too deep for you to go after it.

Just seen my first great white when I was fishing in deeper water! Did the manly thing and jumped back in my raft pronto and ran away :)

There are sea forts other than the mission ones?? Where would I find them??

You can find them in maps with empty squares, there will usually be 3 or 4 connected sea forts there :)
Yes the GW's can be quite scary and if you stay a little longer you will notice that they do a lot more damage than a Tiger shark *lol*

Will keep an eye out for them. Not seen any maps with empty squares yet and only sea forts I've seen are mission ones but I am fairly new to the game. Cheers frillen :)
