Sometimes I enjoy my superiority hunting them from the raft (self-made = much more stable).
Sometimes I am lazy (or lack the tools) and just "stare them away" (if you don't hurt them, they tend to not attack you as long as you keep eye contact to them, i.e. you can escape them by swimming backwards/sidewards).

Anyway, sharks’ HP is 200, and the damage for bow, speargun, crude spear and refined spear are 20, 20, 20 and 40 respectively.
Be aware that sharks will restore some HP if the battle takes too long.
