Bring back the old Bed.
There is no reason to remove one to replace with the other, aesthetically the bed fit looked very nice and made sense.
It required plenty of lashings and what not, now you are limited to how many bases you can make by how many sleeping bags you can loot.
Why not make the item a bed you can pick up and place wherever so that you can sleep when out at new islands farming for things?

I agree. There is no reason to replace the bed. We have furniture, so why remove the bed? More diversity = more fun.

@ Kwisatz - you only need one sleeping bag and carry it around with you. I always carry one crate with 1xantibiotics, 1x bandage and 1x sleeping bag. I free carry 4x clay water bottles. This leaves 7 free spaces in my inventory. When "grinding" I fill these with empty crates.

I used to carry compass and load my raft with 7x crates but currently make the game deliberately harder for me by never carrying compass and only using life raft.

And how is that a response or a rebuttal.
Good for you, you do what a majority of players do already. A sleeping bag is a portable bed, why not keep it that way and leave a normal bed.

"It required plenty of lashings and what not, now you are limited to how many bases you can make by how many sleeping bags you can loot."

You craft the sleeping bags you don't find them.
Sleeping bags has freed up the situation of moving about and being able to save the game whilst exploring.
You can carry your crafted sleeping bag with you to any island and always have a quick and easy place to save........the old bed was difficult to carry around and this also frees up the need to build a shelter every time you wanted to save.
I'm glad the old bed was burned.

Except the bed was stationary and added the same utility as the sleeping bad, their is nothing to be lost by having it in.
Fanbois please stop responding.

I craft a table to lay the sleeper bag on it & it looks like a bed its is a little high.

You can build houses, smoker, shelter, giant rafts and whatever, But NOT a simple bed to have in your own house on your home Island? Weird! Why removal of the bed? This kind of behaviour from Devs must be intentional and displays their kind of having fun I think. But I'll give them credit. Say I've built a really big mansion out of bricks, and all of a sudden I can't manage to build a simple bed and must sleep on the floor? It's kinda funny in a way. Ridiculous but funny.

Sleeping bag is great, but we really need BOTH as crafting options... the sleeping bag for a portable bed roll, and the bed for perminate structures.

Because in your OP you said "you are limited to .... how many sleeping bags you can loot."

My answer explained you only need one sleeping bag not multiple as your OP said. Does that answer it for you?

EDIT>> Yes I agree beds should still be in the game. However you went on to explain why removal of the bed was a chore for you having to "loot" multiple sleeping bags. Only one is required and I was trying to help you which is what these forums are for right? Then if that help comes from a Fanbois as you put it (Fanboy) then fine, I suppose I'm a Fan Boy, and proud to be.

The ideal answer is to have both as craftable options.
