Difficult question to answer really, there are older people here who are terrified to go into the water, and younger folk who don't really mind too much .... If its the scare factor you are thinking of? ...Have you looked at some lets plays on YouTube ?

Here is a link to some more recent ones (Not mine and not sure about the Shark content though)

Stranded Deep is not violent game. I dont really no is there any age rating or limit to play this game, but only really violence is non leathal snakebyte and sharks, they can cause your player charicatyres dead. And of course, you can die dehydrate if you not drink fluid as much as need and also if you dont eat and sleep, that gonne be fatal feil. I think 10year old have been learn on scool allready that sharks and snakes ar dangerous animals and you need to drink, eat and sleep to keep alive ;)

i have a 9 and 12 year old and i allow them to play. violence is mild and limited to sharks. there are zero language and game character issues. the forum community is well moderated and the language is clean. the only problem i have found is individual streamers on twitch.tv that use bad language while streaming but this has nothing to do with the stranded deep community:)

I would say E10+, There's really not much fighting or anything, You do skin animals but you dont actaully see anything bad. you just see some blood particals and that's it. and like cosmo said, is it the fear factor? i'm terrified to go in the water, even if theres no sharks near.

underwater is scary as fck, sharks tend to grab your character without you knowing its there, freaks me out

My advice to your parents is to wait for full release. Early access is a complicated procedure and not an ideal gaming enviroment for children. While its a good game for kids until its finished its not going to be as fun. For parents who play and can lead their kids through the pitfalls its one thing but if they are already unsure then its definitely better to wait.

but early acess is cheaer

much cheaper
fluxtorrent Jan 21, 2017 @ 4:34pm
There are no plans to jack the price up, and most early access titles never get more expensive. If price is the consideration at the very least they should wait for a sale.

Well put DBN.

OP - You could always download the game, and give it a go with your parents present. It is a very beautiful game, and does have sharks and various survival aspects that need to be satisfied. I believe the refund period is short offered, but if mom & dad are privy initially, you will probably know if it's suitable for you fairly quickly.

fluxtorrent makes a very good point - as always. This game goes through updates frequently in its Early Access phase, and can/will change frequently. So if constant change is a problem... best wait.

If you do indeed give it a go, we will all welcome you, and you will have our support to answer your questions and concerns - mom and dad as well.

Our mini-mod Jiffy will meet you in the lobby........... he keeps the community united....

Stay Interested!
