Purpose of shelter?

Is there purpose of building shelter? other than it looks nice in the game? There are no predators on island, i dont need shelter to keep warm. So why waste resources on building a stationary home when i will move to other islands looking for resources for my mobile raft?

this is the main problem with the game at this moment, EA of course but there is literally no point to anything at the moment, you just need to be able to eat, drink, and save the game perhaps sleep to skip night but not required really

in time the shelter like other things will become relevant, even the raft construction at this time isnt required really you can make do with the one you start with

Like Shane says ^^ The shelter has no current function, but it will be needed in the future. In the future there will be more survival elements. We will have to deal with exposure to rain and sun, so the shelter will be needed.

like this idea, if you are staying to long in the rain you can get a cold, so you have to get in shelter while it rains. Maybe while waiting for rain to pass you could craft some hooks and prepare a rod, and baiting for fishing. Or even prepare the medicinal herbs for healing your flu. or even to craft a rain coat whith leather that would alow you to stay in rain for a bit longer. this game has great potential. Its easy to imagine new features, not easy to bring them to the game i guess . great job guys.
