Stranded Deep
Campfire Spit??
Can anyone tell me; since the distiller is no longer in the game, what is the actual use of the campfire spit? I have no idea and I don't want to waste wood building one to find out it's completely useless.

Thank you in advance! :)

Cooking things? seems like a pretty obvious answer.

Well I still use the ancient technique of putting a foundation over a firepit like a barbeque. Lots of space that way.

That was the way it was done before the fire spit existed.

Just use the smoker. Cooked food still spoils over time, I thnk, but smoked food does not. It's a little tricky to get the food in there, you have literally to throw it in.

nope, lol. if I'm not mistaken fire spit was added before building was.

oh and btw, why did you even ask what it's for when you don't use it? it's like saying "what is the flashlight for? I use the lantern."

Well, you are mistaken...

It was a/the way to go in the early days.

Warning issued here as well!

I use that. The grill over the fire technique and then after I smoke it. Also, it's not that tricky you can stand on the smoker facing the open end and then drop all the meat inside, it usually works fine that way.

No, it really isn't the same question. But nice try.

I just use the smoker; don't need to cook the food first.
