Hello, everyone! We've got a short little newsletter for you all this month. In January, we've mostly focused on a new means of strengthening weapons and the Carniflora enemy!

Before we get into that, though, check out the newest source of light! If you can get your hands on the Lantern, it will be quite nice to have, as it does not go out by running and rolling, unlike the torch! The only issue is that you won't be able to light torches with it, so that will still have some utility.

You might have seen Henrietta digging out a peculiar ore in the previous newsletter. There are several ores like this, all with different colors. Get your hands on these Vivid Ores and turn them into Ingots as you would normally do. Fluke specializes in using such ores to permanently strengthen whatever weapon you please! Each ore has a different buff they can apply to your weapon:

- Red Ore: Increase attack power.
- Purple Ore: Less stamina used.
- Orange Ore: More gems dropped on kill.
- Blue Ore: More essence dropped on kill.
- Green Ore: More stun on hit.

Quite valuable and worth doing, I'd say! Just make sure you got the proper amount of coin!

Lastly, let's go over some catches to the Carniflora!
These bestial plants will only be found outside, like in the demo (but not in the courtyard this time!). At night time, lack of sunlight will cause them to curl up into a deep slumber.

Adding to that, when a Carniflora is killed, there is a chance its head will sprout legs of its own to continue attacking you! Don't be caught off guard, it's a ferocious, jumpy little fruit!

​​Hello, everyone, hope you all had a good start to your New Year! We don't have too much to show this month, as I've been mostly working on tilesets, maps, as well as inching towards getting our upcoming Kickstarter campaign going! The latter is going to take a while longer since I'm also trying to conceive a way to update our demo to the current build (I want to push this at the same time as the Kickstarter). Doing so, however, will require us to rethink how much of the game people can play in the demo. It's really tricky to figure out because of our gameplay loop, but we're currently considering letting people play until they first reach 6AM and faint from Fay's curse. I'm SO sure that no one can beat the game in that amount of time! (haha)

Anyway, here's the little we got to show you guys!

When you show Lady Fay that you're willing and able to get stuff done, she will take notice, and you will be invited for dinner! No, don't worry, you aren't the dinner this time. You have the honor of eating with her! This is the perfect time to have conversation and learn more about certain characters. After dinner, you'll be rejuvenated as well, receiving health as a bonus as well as more approval from Fay! The video shows a preview of the dinner scene and its unique music!

Our campaign will feature ONE PHYSICAL REWARD! WHOA! I'm working on a cool sticker sheet with a handful of the most popular characters in the game, as well as a cursemark of your very own!

More outdoor environments are in-work, such as the graveyard...

​...and a hedge garden!

These hedge tiles took me a while to make let alone map out, and GameMaker's autotile system is not great.

Currently, we're also testing enemies spawning on day one. We've seen that people tend to want to get into the action right away. For balance's sake, minimal enemies will spawn on the first day, and then will spawn normally once you meet Fay.
