The story started interestingly but became less so as the plot progressed. The quick-time events are terribly implemented, in my opinion. I felt the need to switch to "easy" difficulty, and it still didn't feel particularly easy to keep up with the many on-screen prompts. The QTEs where you have to spam the A & D keys feel unnecessarily strenuous, and they expect me to do various of these in succession, as if they want to tire my patience or my wrist out so I quit playing for a few minutes. Movement feels weird to control. I expected to get used to it after playing some more, but after 2 hours, I felt the need to switch from mouse and keyboard to a controller, which was more comfortable for this kind of game. Still, I don't love how this game controls. This is also the first game on Steam to ever cause issues for me in full-screen mode; I can't switch back to my desktop, and my only option is to manually quit the game by pausing and quitting from the menu. This wouldn't be a problem if the game didn't freeze on me, but it did so twice, and I had to force shut the application via Task Manager. The graphics are what you expect from a game that's almost two decades old. Facial animations are worse than I remember, but maybe that's just me. I wouldn't exactly call this a remaster, more like an HD texture pack. All in all, the game isn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend it to most people either. If you find it on sale, have a controller, and can tolerate extensive QTEs and the dated graphics, then sure, you might find some enjoyment here. As for me, I might continue and finish the game, but I will most definitely not be replaying this one, like I did with Detroit: Become Human.
