Big Shot X3 = Worthless?
http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/443955291033639804/9225662AF66C9AD8EE18F8C734159FBE1857A4DC/

So I got lucky enough to forge a weapon with 3 stacks of Big Shot without taking much time. However, after having testing it against many different enemies on Harakiri difficulty, mostly Dojima and the DLC guy that uses Medicine five times, I have found absolutely no reason to believe that 3 stacks of Big Shot deals any more damage than one.

The damage looks absolutely the same to me. I've tried this with a number of moves that I know Big Shot effects, mostly in Yato style. I've seen a lot of gamefaq discussions about how great 3x Big Shot is on PS3, so now I'm not sure if they just didn't know what the hell they were talking about, or if they patched the Steam version. I'm leaning toward the former.

Can anyone confirm that 3x any charm is better than 1?

Try one of the moves with a hidden move like Kyoji or Gan Swordfighting. The move should be able to 1-2 shot most major boss character now like Kinugawa when it would normally take them 3 hits to kill with anything less than 3 big shot charms.

i dont think anyone has the exact formula yet, but keeping mind each ability has a power attached to it, there also negations to take into affect, some styles are weak to others and vice verses. so more data would be useful

I've tried hidden moves as well. The thing is, there is a VERY noticable difference in damage using effected moves between a sword with Big Shot, and a sword without Big Shot. Using the same moves with 3x Big Shot shows no difference.

Actually, I've been playing around with it more, and there is a difference. It's small but you can tell it's a little more damage. I'll upload a video.

That move doesn't proc big shot. Big shot procs on moves that cause guard break mainly.

I hated Big Shot and went for Life&death 3x, and I love it

I am using 2 swords:
- 3x Midas (increases amount of gold when dropped)
- 3x Life&death (restores vitality / health when standing still)

Don't waste your time to create BS sword, it not worth it. :steamfacepalm:

I use a sword with Big Shot x3, it works amazing with heavy attack combos and finishers.

You're wrong, that move totally procs Big Shot and is also a guard break. Try it yourself. Doing the same move to Dojima without a Big Shot weapon does hardly any noticable damage at all. You are so wrong I'm considering your statement a troll.

You're delusional if you think that move isn't a guard break.

Are you crazy? guardbreakers, which are the strongest attacks in the game, do like 4 times their normal damage. On easy you can even one hit kill enemies with a kick.

Uhh...Yes. Guardbreakers do indeed inflict a ton of damage with Big Shot. The three hit combo I'm using in the vid are all guard breakers. The point of this is that 3 stacks of Big Shot is not really worth it.

There's like a few moves that work with big shot and they arent guard breaks.

Ukimi Haiten from Shinobi Dual Arms (this hits extremely hard and 1 shots generics on Harakiri despite the strength level of only 40), Detective's Proof combo from One Handed stances and Heat Haze from Iai stance are examples. I think Big shot moves pretty much work with some attacks that dont use your blade directly like kicks, slaps, punches, or hitting them with the grip or scabbard of your katana.

Yeah, they aren't all guard breaks. This is correct.
