Fix for game not starting (no window appearing)
I had posted this in another discussion, but I thought people would like to know how to fix this:

Originally posted by Mizune:
It used to give me a PhysX dll error, but after I installed Nvidia PhysX again, it does not display anything, nor does it flash a window.

I launch the game, Steam displays a message box "Preparing to launch..." and then my profile picture's border changes from a blue to green with the suffix " - Running" added to Way of the Samurai 4 on my games list.
After about 1 second, it changes back to blue. and my game starts syncing; much like it does after I quit a game that has Steam Cloud Sync enabled.

I have re-installed the game, but the problem still persists.

I'm (sort of) glad someone else is having the same issue and it's not just on my end.
----
EDIT: I have found a way to fix this:

A few things before I begin; 1. I did not re-install my game 2. PhysX folder was empty for some reason so I installed the newest version from NVIDIA's official website instead of using the *.msi inside the game's folder.

First I deleted the games's configuration files "S4-SETTINGS.ini"

Then I copied all of the files from "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common" to the root directory of the game folder (where "WayOfTheSamurai4.exe" is located)

After that, I copied the files from "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine\v2.8.3" to the root directory of the game folder

I double-clicked the *.exe file in the game's folder (you shouldn't have to do that) to start the game... and it ran successfully.

I hope this helps.

Couldn't find the settings file, but copying the files from PhysX/Common was enough to get it to work in my case. Thanks for posting.

Better yet. Ghostlight should fix this issue
Hah, true. There are still quite another few issues too. I recently saw they announced they're working on porting JRPG's... to Switch... >_<. So I think they're done with PC :/

Just making sure: you’re supposed to be copying the files from the Common folder and the v2.8.3 folder, which is inside the Engine folder.

Copy all of the files in both of those folders to Way of the Samurai’s game directory (if it asks you to overwrite, click Yes, or something similar). If you don’t know how to get here, right-click on the name of the game in Steam, click on Properties, then Local Files, and finally click on the Browse Local Files button. A window should pop up automatically. This is where you’ll copy the files in the Common and v2.8.3 folders to—assuming you haven’t done this already.

Doesn't work for me, why is this port so trash???

EDIT: After half an hour of tikkering it seems I found a solution, I had to delete the Physx folder from "Way of the Samurai 4\Common", as well as all the files in the root folder, and I made Steam re-download all that.
Then I had to re-install my Nvidia driver and copy/paste all the files like KIKI said again.
It then started up... and crashed immediatly, but now the "S4-SETTINGS.ini" file was created. I re-started the game again and now it works.
At least the game is good but nobody should pay full-price for a port this botched.
